Ponder this...

Another day at the house with the bambina. I've got a camp coming up this summer and I can't wait to put pen to paper for our new camp song! Every year they fly me down to TX to do the music and I love doing it. This year's theme? The Beatitudes. I gotta chew on this for awhile.

It's a crazy world out there for musicians. I live in Nashville, where some artists would sooner sell their souls than help a fellow artist, if it means a leg up for him(or her). This isn't the way I want to live. I have lots of theories and ideas about the music industry and their interaction with the web and music consumers which I won't bore you with here. Suffice it to say, for many reasons I have decided to give away my music, for free. Yes, you read that right. I don't do music so I can be a rock star, or a millionaire. I just do it for the love of it. Music is a gift that has been given to me to give to others. If you'd like to help me make more for you (since that part still takes a little bit o green), support me by donating a little bit. I can't wait to share the next album with you!

Back in business

Sooooo you might have noticed (and then again, you might not have) that I've been off the radar with music. It began last summer when I was pregnant with my daughter and I lost feeling in my hands. Not just lost feeling. Feeling was replaced by pain. So as you can imagine, I gave up playing my guitar and writing. I was able to type for little bits at a time, but couldn't hold a pen, or play. Since the birth of my baby girl, things have been returning to normal again, so I'm eager to get my hands working again! First things first, I'm starting this place for people to see what's going on. It's not perfect, it's not fancy, it has absolutely NO FLASH. But, I'm not that flashy a gal anyway. It's just a place. My place. I hope you'll subscribe and visit me often. You never know what you'll find here. Music isn't my only love (although it is my deepest) so you might just find random things I've made, things I'm thinking ab

About

I do a lot of things but the thing I always come home to is music. It's my favorite art form. The music I make now is ever evolving, but the elements that shaped me remain. A recipe for making my kinda music: 1. Take a huge helping of the Beatles (thanks Papa!) 2. Add a Tbs of soul (Aretha Franklin, Janice Joplin, etc - from Mama) 3. Stir in a pinch of Country music (I can't help it, I grew up in Texas. It was the backdrop of my childhood) but not the cheesy kind. 4. Add a love for words and a lifetime of filling my head with stories and photographs 5. Combine with a classical music education (for depth and composition) 6. Stir together thoroughly and play it all on guitar (mostly) and sing your heart out! Serves plenty. I hope you like it!

News!

Here's what's going on... Not a whole lot right now! Our new baby is absorbing my entire life. Don't worry. I'll be back soon.
